Playwrighting for Social Change is a unique course designed for aspiring playwrights from around the world who are passionate about using their storytelling skills to inspire and effect social change. Whether you are a seasoned writer or just starting out, this course will equip you with the tools and knowledge to craft powerful, impactful plays.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn the basics of playwrighting, including structure, character development, and dialogue.

  • Engage in hands-on writing prompts and exercises designed to enhance your skills.

  • Receive One on One personalized feedback on your progress

  • Dive into various social issues and learn how to weave them into compelling narratives.

  • Find and refine your unique voice as a writer committed to social change.

  • Gain inspiration from a curated collection of impactful play scripts.

  • Join a community of like-minded writers and activists dedicated to making a difference.

  • Complete either a one-act play, the first act of a full-length play, or an outline for a full length play. 


Festival Entry:  Playwrights who complete the workshop with a one-act play will have their play considered for HoneyVic's summer Play Festival, where 4 winners will receive a full production of their play.
